1. Types of Raccoons 🦝

The addon includes four aesthetic variations of raccoons, each with similar behaviors but unique visual designs:

  • Common Raccoon
  • Albino Raccoon
  • Dark Raccoon
  • Brown Raccoon

Each of these raccoons has its own unique appearance, but they all share the behaviors and mechanics described below. 🌈






2. General Behavior 🔄

Raccoons in this addon exhibit several behaviors that make them stand out from other animals in Minecraft:

Mobility:

  • Raccoons can swim and float in the water, allowing them to easily navigate rivers and lakes.
  • They move around the world curiously, exploring their environment and seeking out interesting places. 🏞️

Social Behavior:

  • Raccoons are very curious animals and will approach players or any source of interest in their surroundings.
  • They can be tamed using sweet berries, forming a special bond with the player. 🫶


3. Behavior in the World 🌍

Raccoons interact actively with their natural environment, making their behavior unpredictable and fascinating:

Exploration:

  • Raccoons will explore their environment naturally, constantly searching for interesting objects, blocks, or even other mobs to interact with.
  • They may become more active when looking for food or getting closer to structures like chests. 🏚️

Avoiding Danger:

  • Raccoons have instincts to flee: they will avoid dangerous mobs like wolves or polar bears. 🐺

4. Interactions with Players and Mobs 🤝

Interactions with Players:

  • If tamed, raccoons can approach the player friendlily, seeking food or interacting with the player if they feel comfortable.
  • Untamed raccoons will avoid players, running away if the player approaches too quickly. 👋

Interactions with Other Mobs:

  • Raccoons generally avoid aggressive mobs but can interact with passive mobs like cows, chickens, or sheep.
  • Raccoons can also be attacked by hostile mobs like wolves, so they must stay alert! ⚠️


5. Item Stealing 🦝💼

One of the most fun features of raccoons in this addon is their ability to steal items:

Stealing Behavior:

  • Raccoons are known for their curiosity and their desire to steal. They will approach nearby chests, and if they are within 2 blocks of the chest, they will steal a random item.
  • This action only occurs if the raccoon is not on cooldown, meaning they cannot steal repeatedly without a break. 🔄

Cooldown:

  • After stealing an item, the raccoon enters a cooldown period of 2 minutes during which it cannot steal again. ⏳


6. Feeding Behavior 🍇

Raccoons have a rather varied diet in this addon:

Food:

  • Their favorite food is sweet berries, but they can also loot nearby crops like wheat, carrots, and potatoes.
  • If a raccoon has food in its hand, it will eventually eat it, which may cause it to interact more frequently with the player to receive more food. 🍽️

7. Domestication 🐾

Raccoons can be tamed, changing how they behave and interact with the player:

How to Tame:

  • To tame a raccoon, simply feed it sweet berries. After a short period, the raccoon will begin to follow the player and exhibit friendlier behavior. 🍓

Pet Behavior:

  • Tamed raccoons can sleep near the player at night.
  • Additionally, tamed raccoons can pick up items and give them as gifts to the player upon waking up. 🎁


8. Sleeping Behavior 😴

Raccoons follow a natural sleep cycle in this addon:

Day vs. Night:

  • During the day, raccoons are very active and curious.
  • At night, raccoons tend to become more stealthy and rest. If near the player, they may sleep next to them. 🌙

Tamed raccoons can even leave gifts for the player while they sleep, making them an even more interesting pet! 🎉



9. Special Events 🌦️

Raccoons also react to certain events in the world, adding more dynamics to their behavior:

Weather:

  • During thunderstorms or severe weather, raccoons will tend to hide to protect themselves. ⛈️

Night and Day:

  • Raccoons exhibit different behaviors depending on the time of day. At night, they are more stealthy and active in searching for objects or food. 🌙
